Songs of Joy

Till You Walk Through The Fire

By Kathy Lou Waskett 1 min read

1. Love doesn’t take an easy road

Sometimes it takes a fall

I’ve watched families

who fought the fight

Who heard a different call.

2. They believed standing by each other

In good times or in bad

Was what love was all about

For a mama and a dad

(Chorus)

Till you’ve been in their shoes.

Heard his mama’s cry.

Till you’ve been in their shoes.

Heard them ask God, why?

You can’t judge my friend.

Till you walk through the fire.

3. “Grandma don’t take me to chemo,”

Little Kevin said.

“My blood pressure went

to 240.” that’s what my mama said.

Kevin had a heart of love

and a song for everyone.

I will see him one day when

our work on earth is done.

(Chorus)

Till you’ve been in their shoes.

Heard his mother’s cry.

Till you’ve been in their shoes

Heard them ask God, why?

You can’t judge my friend.

Till you walk through the fire.

4. Make A Wish Foundation

gave Kevin a special wish.

To go with his family to Disneyland

and Knotts-berry Farm.

He was so happy to be

with his family that day.

Kevin and his brother Chris

shared great memories along the way.

(Chorus)

Love and Teddybearhugs!
