Songs of Joy

It’s Just Me and You

By Kathy Lou Waskett 1 min read

1) Times we’ve been together

it nearly broke my heart

being in the same room

we spent so much time apart..

2) you were in your paper

I was in my jeans

It has been such a mystery

what marriage really means.

(chorus)

Now you look at me as if you

see the girl I used to be

I see you as the boy I fell in

love with naturally.

we smile and say it may not be

just what we thought it‘d be.

I say, Baby thats Ok.

all I want is you and me.

3) I remember talking endlessly

music, history, and manatees

sitting on the houseboat

watching canoes pass by our lot.

playing guitar and singing songs

nothing much to do

didn’t really matter

it was just me and you.

(to chorus)

Love and Teddybearhugs!
